About Anthony Avery

Anthony has lived in West Seattle with his spouse and twin three year olds since 2019; he grew up in Eastern Washington. His family has been a one car household since 2013 and they rely mostly on non-automobile modes to get around town. The US Navy veteran graduated from Arizona State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s in Urban Planning and in 2011 with a Master’s of Real Estate Development. Prior to becoming an agent, Anthony worked as a city planner on active transportation planning, ADA oversight, and affordable housing policy.

In his spare time, Anthony enjoys hiking with his girls, cycling around the city, and playing ice hockey. When COVID hit, Anthony hit the road on his bike and set out to ride every street in West Seattle. Since finishing that goal, he plans to ride every street in Seattle by the end of 2028.

It varies for everybody. It could mean walking to local restaurants or even getting rid of a car or cars! Living in a walkable neighborhood with helpful transit can reduce the need to use a car for every trip. Getting out of traffic, connecting with the community, getting exercise, and saving money are all byproducts of living car-lite or car-free.

Anthony has used the VA Guaranteed Home Loan to purchase his personal home three times. As a veteran with a service-connected disability with a background in military paperwork, he is an expert in navigating the VA.
